Marquette Board of Light & Power (MBLP) is seeking candidates for a full-time exempt position of Manager of Information Technology Services in Marquette, MI.

Candidates for this position will possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science Engineering or Electronic Engineering or Computer Network Administration from an accredited university. The position requires a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the administration, implementation, maintenance, upgrades, and backups of virtual and physical server environments; utilizing industry best practices while maintaining tight cybersecurity controls and standards. Will manage fiber optics, LAN, WAN, and WIFI communication systems and a Windows environment. Familiarity with SQL Databases, Cloud Computing, DCS, CISCO programming, SCADA electric control system and management, and Maximo as it relates to utility operations and applications is a plus.

With the support of senior staff, the position will be expected to develop and execute an IT strategy across the entire utility to help drive process improvements and operational excellence. This will include system implementations and integrations across multiple software environments as well as managing Master Service Agreements with IT professional service providers. The ideal candidate will have a customer service focus and understand that they serve both external and internal stakeholders. A history of successful project management is also a plus. Must have demonstrated experience in and continuous effort toward maintaining high operational availability of all IT systems and managing improvements to all hardware and software as required by MBLP needs and external regulatory authorities. Will develop information technology policies and procedures relative to industry norms, conduct and develop various training including cybersecurity for all system users. Will be responsible for maintaining the MBLP’s IT internal control environment. Ability to work with budgets, cost accounting as well as long-term project planning. This is a very visible position within the organization and the person must exercise good judgment in all aspects of delivery of service to employees, staff, the Board, and contractors/vendors. Applicant should be analytical, resourceful, and possess outstanding organizational and interpersonal communication skills; along with the ability to communicate high-level strategy and direction to a publically-elected Board. Ability to respond to system trouble and work additional hours as may be required by operational conditions.
