Michigan Public Power Agency is a project-based agency. The 18 full members of MPPA select the projects in which they will participate and the level of their participation. Sixty five percent (65%) of MPPA’s members participate in four or more projects.
For over a century, Traverse City Light & Power (TCL&P) has been an important part of Traverse City's infrastructure. Owned by the citizens of Traverse City, TCL&P’s roots trace back to 1912 with the purchase of Queen City Light & Power, the Keystone Dam and the property around Brown Bridge Dam. TCL&P provides service to nearly 12,000 customers in Traverse City and part of the outlying areas in Blair, East Bay, Elmwood, Garfield, Paradise and Peninsula Townships.
