The Power Pool project consists of eight MPPA cities that combined their loads and resources.  These cities include:

            Charlevoix
            Grand Haven
            Harbor Springs
            Lansing
            Lowell
            Petoskey
            Traverse City
            Zeeland

Thru MPPA, the Power Pool buys and sells power, transmission capacity to meet the needs of all the Power Pool participants, and performs power supply planning for its members.  Currently, Power Pool operations include 870 MW of generating capacity supplies and 750 MW of load under economic dispatch.  It participates in active buying and selling of capacity and energy on the wholesale market to enhance economics.  Each member receives a montly billing based on hourly energy cost calculations derived from a combination of internal and external Power Pool transactions.

Members of the Power Pool share the following resources:
203 MW of capacity entitlements in coal fired Campbell and Belle River projects
48 MW of capacity entitlements in gas fired Kalkaska CT project
564 MW of capacity in Pool Participant owned coal fired resources
48 MW of capacity in Pool Participant owned gas or oil fired resources
Transmission entitlements from Campbell and Belle River, with transmission                    service purchased from MISO
