Reliable & Dependable Power

MPPA administers many different energy projects.  These projects all have one main theme:  to provide reliable and dependable power at an affordable rate to the members of the project.  There are several different projects and each member city participates in at least one of the projects.  The current projects are:

    Power Pool

The Power Pool project consists of eight MPPA cities that combined their loads and resources.

    Belle River

The Belle River Project is MPPA's largest single source of capacity and energy.

    Campbell #3

MPPA's first project includes ten cities:

    Combustion Turbine
MPPA's first wholly built, financed, owned and operated project.

Transimission Project

The Transmission Project has allowed MPPA members to take an equity stake in Michigan transmission systems.  MPPA, through the Transmission Project, owns transmission assets on the ITC and ITC/METC systems.

Dispatch Project

The Dispatch Project was formed in 2005 to prepare MPPA members for the Midwest Independent System Operator (MISO) Market.  Through the Project, members enjoy the following services:

Load Forecasting
Market Pricing Discovery
Bilateral Transactions
MISO Scheduling
MISO Shadow Settlement
Bilateral Settlements
