Transmission Planning

In accordance with applicable parts of FERC Order 890 and in conjunction with collaborative efforts with the Midwest Independent System Operator (MISO) to meet certain requirements of Order 890, the Michigan Public Power Agency (MPPA) is required to provide links to state or local procedural requirements applicable to the planning or siting of electric transmission facilities.  Fulfillment of this requirement is hereby met with the following link to Act 30 of 1995 , Electric Transmission Line  Certification Act.

MPPA is a joint action agency comprised of certain municipals located in the State of Michigan.  Accordingly, MPPA and its member municipals, by State law, are not required to abide to all sections of the above mentioned act.  However, any planning and siting of transmission facilities normally follows a similar procedure to ensure proper notice and input from stakeholders.
