Legal Authority
Michigan Public Power Agency (MPPA) is a public body politic and corporate of the State of Michigan created in 1978 under Act 448, Public Acts of Michigan, 1976 as amended.
MPPA is authorized to create opportunities for joint action that enable public power utilities to successfully provide reliable, cost effective and environmentally responsible electric utility services to their communities.
Financial Responsibility
Maintaining sound finances helps MPPA provide competitively priced power supply for our Member communities. Our financial information is publicly available on our website for both investors and interested members of the Public.
Project Based
MPPA is a project based joint action agency. Members choose the Projects that best fit their needs. Each project is financially independent from the others. No revenues or funds available from one project may be used to pay the costs of another project.
