The Michigan Public Power Agency (MPPA) is hiring an Energy Market Operations Lead to join its Energy Supply and Market Operations team in Lansing. This hybrid role sits at the center of daily energy forecasting and scheduling — reviewing load forecasts, submitting bids and schedules to MISO and PJM markets, coordinating power resources and bilateral transactions, and supporting settlement and reporting processes.
The right candidate brings strong analytical instincts, sharp attention to detail, and the reliability to meet firm market deadlines.
MPPA is looking for candidates with a bachelor’s degree in a related field and the ability to work with complex operational data. Preferred qualifications include:
- 3–5 years of experience in wholesale energy markets, utility operations, or power scheduling
- Familiarity with MISO, PJM, e-tagging, load forecasting, and RTO market systems
- Experience with meter data systems (such as MV-90), SCADA, power purchase agreements, or resource adequacy
- Proficiency in Excel or similar analytical tools
MPPA offers a comprehensive benefits package, an employer-contributed retirement plan, and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful public power work across Michigan. If you’re a detail-oriented energy professional who thrives in a structured, deadline-driven environment, apply here.
