The Transmission Project was created to purchase an undivided interest in the transmission grid with the objective of reducing transmission costs to MPPA and its thirteen members.
In 2005, the MPPA member participants contributed capital for the purchase of an undivided interest in the bulk transmission system. In 2006, an investment in transmission lines in the amount of $3.3M was made through the Transmission Project whereby MPPA purchased an undivided ownership in certain transmission lines and obtained certain rights to use of the bulk transmission system.
